Occidental Thoroughbreds, a full-service thoroughbred bloodstock advisory business, is located in Bourbon County, Kentucky, the center of the global thoroughbred business. Andre and Trish Regard are the principals in Occidental Thoroughbreds. Combined they have over 30 years of experience in the thoroughbred business. Occidental Thoroughbreds purchases and sells thoroughbreds both publicly and in private transactions. In addition, Occidental Thoroughbreds manages breeding stock, stallion shares and seasons, and pinhooking and breeding partnerships. Occidental Farm consists of over 390 acres of prime Kentucky Bluegrass.

Occidental Thoroughbreds is owned and operated by Andre and Trish Regard. Andre runs the bloodstock advisory services, racing and investment partnerships. Andre is a 1993 graduate of Georgetown University School of Business. Following five years as an officer in the Navy, Andre attended Georgetown Law and graduated in 2000. Upon finishing law school, Andre and Trish moved to Kentucky with their children to establish a thoroughbred breeding farm and advisory business. Andre is a member of, and consultant for, the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, a member of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association, the Thoroughbred Club of America, the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association, and the Saratoga Reading Room. He is also a published author on legal issues involving the thoroughbred industry. Trish has been actively involved in thoroughbreds her entire life and currently handles all of the day to day work with the horses, including sales preparation and breeding. Trish grew up on a thoroughbred farm in Ocala, Florida. She is a graduate of the University of Florida.

Recent successes of Occidental include selling yearlings for $420,000, $400,000, $250,000, and $200,000. In addition, the principals of Occidental have been involved in breeding a runner in the 2006 Breeders Cup, a current top stakes runner in Japan, and stakes winner of over $400,000. In 2007 Occidental bred approximately 35 mares and will have foals by leading sires such as Songandaprayer, Roman Ruler, Came Home, Malibu Moon, and Officer, among others. Mares were bred back to Include, Indian Charlie, Elusive Quality, Suave, Street Cry, and Tiznow.
